how it works

From Enquiry to Project Handover

Every project follows a structured process from initial review through preparation, application and handover. We work from the accepted project information and selected system requirements, with checks and records built into our application scope.
Process

Eight Stages from Enquiry to Handover

Each stage builds on the information and condition established before it, helping us identify missing inputs, control application and maintain clear project records.
Project Enquiry
You provide the project location, programme, drawings and known fire-protection requirements. We review the initial scope and suitability.
Tender Review
We assess the available specifications, schedules, access requirements and interfaces before defining our price and stated assumptions.
Site Assessment
Where required, we inspect access, steel condition, existing coatings and practical site constraints relevant to our work.
Scope Confirmation
The selected system, member schedule and project requirements are confirmed from information accepted by the relevant project team.
Surface Preparation
Steel is cleaned or prepared to the condition required by the selected coating system and agreed work scope.
Coating Application
Compatible system components are applied in controlled coats by trained operatives, with relevant site conditions and WFT checks recorded.
Inspection
After sufficient drying, DFT and visible condition are assessed against the accepted schedule under the agreed inspection arrangements.
Project Handover
Records for the FireCoatings scope are compiled and issued, including the agreed product, application, inspection and repair information.
Methodology

Three Principles Behind Our Process

Our approach is built around clear project inputs, controlled application and records that show how the agreed work was carried out.

Measured Application Controls

WFT, relevant site conditions and work areas are recorded during application. Final DFT is checked where included in the agreed inspection scope.

Accepted Project Requirements

We work from the fire-resistance requirement, member information and selected system documentation accepted for the project.

Defined QA and Handover

Inspection and handover records document the work completed within our scope and support review by the wider project team.

Quality Records

QA & Handover Built Into the Process

Our project records are developed alongside the work. Depending on the agreed scope, these may include product information, application-area records, environmental readings, WFT logs, DFT inspection results, photographs and repair records. They document our work but do not replace fire design, regulatory review or building-control approval.
