What You’ll Be Doing
As an apprentice, you’ll be trained in all aspects of fire protection and specialist coatings, including:
- Assisting with the preparation of steelwork for fire protection
- Supporting the application of intumescent and protective coatings
- Learning safe use of tools, equipment and access systems
- Understanding site safety, quality standards and compliance requirements
- Working alongside experienced operatives on live construction sites
- Attending college as part of your apprenticeship programme
You’ll gain hands-on experience while developing the technical knowledge required to progress into a skilled trade role.

- Interest in construction, engineering or technical trades
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Commitment to completing an apprenticeship programme
