Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Tendering

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects across:
  • Intumescent fire protection
  • Industrial and commercial coatings
  • Surface preparation (abrasive blasting, dry ice blasting, mechanical prep)
  • Specialist cleaning and remedial works
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes and site information
• Quantify labour, materials, access requirements and programme durations
• Identify risks, exclusions and value-engineering opportunities
• Prepare professional tender submissions and clarifications

Technical Assessment & Pre-Construction Support

• Review substrate conditions, access constraints and coating requirements
• Determine appropriate preparation methods and coating systems
• Assess fire protection requirements and system compatibility
• Support site surveys and assist with technical queries pre- and post-award

Commercial & Project Interface

• Liaise with clients, main contractors and consultants during tender stage
• Support project handover with clear scopes, assumptions and constraints
• Assist with variation pricing and cost tracking during live projects

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in estimating within coatings, fire protection, or specialist construction
• Strong understanding of surface preparation, coatings systems and site logistics
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Commercially astute with strong attention to detail
• Confident communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of intumescent coatings and fire protection systems
• Experience with industrial, commercial or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with access systems, working-at-height constraints and site logistics
• Understanding of relevant standards and compliance requirements
